Although more than 25 years have passed since the first book in the “Harry Potter” series hit stores, so far the brand has not gained a notable game worthy of the much-enjoyed world of wizards. That may be about to change this year, with Hogwarts Legacy, action and role-playing game expected to come out towards the end of 2022, and looks just like the thing Harry Potter fans have been waiting for all these years.
In a video posted on Sony’s official YouTube channel, fans of the brand are invited to be impressed by almost 15 minutes of gameplay clips and demonstrations from Hogwarts Legacy. While the game’s protagonists are not Harry Potter and his friends but new characters, the experience seems to be quite faithful to books and movies with magic school classes, opportunities to explore mysterious rooms and secret passages, and of course witchcraft battles.
The video also reveals that the plot of the game actually takes place in the 18th century and that the player will be able to connect with other students in the school and go on joint missions with them. It will also be possible to go beyond the boundaries of Hogwarts, and explore the environment – even by flying on a broom or even a dragon.
Although the video was posted on a YouTube channel dedicated to PlayStation, it is not exclusive to Sony consoles. In addition to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, Hogwarts Legacy is also expected to hit Xbox One, Series X, and Series S consoles, as well as the Nintendo Switch and PC.
